Micro Review: CLE Connecticut Corona Gorda 5.75 x 46

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Seed Connecticut grown

Binder: Honduran

Filler: Honduran

Blender: Christian Eiroa

The pre-light smell is hay and slightly grassy. A lick on the triple cap has a bit more of that grassy feel and there is also an oily feel on tongue. After a cut with a double guillotine there is a firm draw, but still able to be smoked. A soft flame lights the cigar.

The first puffs are smooth and slightly sweet. There is a nice leather note with a spice on the finish that seems to only start after the smoke is expelled. Through the nose a woody musk attaches itself to the leather. The middle third sweetens slightly and the grass notes work well with that. A slight spice still lingers to satisfy the fuller body smoker. The final third loses all musk and seems to flatten out a bit. The grassy notes seem to move into the aftertaste.

This is a good mid morning smoke, but I think I liked the CLE Corojo better.
